Code of Conduct

Cut Ties with Genocide Mass Protest Camp

From February 21st to 26th we will gather for the mass protest camp Cut Ties With Genocide at The Youth House (Ungdomshuset) in Copenhagen. This code of conduct sets the framework for how we will share the space and care for each other during the camp. Please read it before you come, and consider whether you can and want to meet under these agreements.

Why we are here

We are here to protest against the international arms trade, the genocide in Palestine, and colonialist mega-corporations. We are here to form communities and networks that can build and fight for a better world. We are here to show Maersk and other war criminals that they are the ones that stand alone. We are here to show active solidarity with all Palestinian people in Palestine and around the world. We are here to do regenerative activism that can carry people through their lives, and give our networks strength and energy across borders. We are here to share and learn skills and information that will make us better able to resist. We are here to cut ties with genocide.

How we share the space

The camp is both a place to learn and to discuss and challenge each other and ourselves, as well as it is a place for care and community. Let's try to meet each other from a place of curiosity and solidarity.

There is an organizing group that has prepared the space and the structures we meet under. But the camp is also co-created. We are all responsible for the success of the camp, and for creating a space that can accommodate and support many people.

We will be many people in a small space. That is great! Take the opportunity to get to know each other, but also remember to take the quiet time you need outside of the camp. Check the packing list to make sure you bring what you need.

The ground floor, meaning the eating area and the big workshop room, are accessible by wheelchair. If you have questions for accessibility please fill out the sign up sheet on our website or send us an email at crac-contact@riseup.net.

Vegan food will be served, but be prepared to bring/buy snacks and whatever else you need to feel energized. The camp will also accept non-vegan food donations, which will be well marked and placed separately.

There will be opportunities to sign up for both cleaning and cooking shifts. Do it and have fun with it together. Safer space

We do not tolerate harassment and discrimination of any kind or language that encourages it, and we ask everyone to help out on this front. This includes racist, sexist, trans-, homo- or queerphobic behaviour.

If you see or experience it, please involve yourself and try to solve the situation. The social awareness team is there to support. Perpetrators may be asked to leave the camp by the social awareness team or the security group if deemed necessary to keep the space safe.

We find it important to emphasize that we don't discriminate based on national country of origin, class, family ties or religion. We welcome everyone at the camp who opposes Zionism and settler-colonial states.

The youth house - rules & requests

Police is not welcome at the youth house or in our community. There is a security group that will communicate with the police if they show up. We see collaboration with the police in any form as a huge security risk for our entire community.

The Youth House is a place where people spend time building relationships with the neighboring people and shops. Don't shit where you or your friends eat - so pay for stuff when you are around Ungdomshuset, or take it further away.

We are here to protest, and diversity of tactics and affinity group actions are welcome and encouraged. However, there is a request not to come directly back to Ungdomshuset or other collective sleeping spaces directly afterwards, so please plan accordingly.

Ungdomshuset has a strict no-drugs policy. This does not include alcohol or weed, but we ask you to consume responsibly. Smoking is not allowed inside.

NO PHOTOS - do not take pictures inside of Ungdomshuset.

There is also a protest consensus. Please read it if you plan to participate in any mass protest.

Take care of each other.
